I had a rib dinner and a peach cobbler from the truck on Peabody. It was delicious I will be going back.
Southern Smokehouse BBQ does not only have a brick and mortar but also a food truck that recently joined The Gold Ridge Food Truck lineup. Every so often they'll park up next to the park and service a limited menu for those at the park. It just so happened that the day I visited the park with my daughter, SSBBQ was parked and ready to serve. They do accept cash, card, and Apple Pay which was a great thing to know because I rarely bring any currency when going to the park. The service was a bit slow since everyone on the truck was trying to organize themselves. To my understanding, all the meats have been cooked at their restaurant and the only thing cooked on the truck is the fries and chicken wings. I knocked off a star because I had ordered their rib dinner plate and was given their brisket plate which was a $3 difference. When I realized this I brought it up to their attention and ordered another rib dinner and chicken wings but was not given a discount in the difference for their mistake. Overall, the food was alright. It wasn't dry, nor under seasoned. Their potato salad was very tangy and seemed like they used a bit too much vinegar and the fries was lackluster. I would assume that it would be much more enjoyable if you ordered from their restaurant and ate it while it's hot but that's the caveat to ordering from food trucks. An
My PTO and ADMIN got us all lunch from the food truck. So that's a bunch of teachers, staff ect. They were polite, calm, professional even when there were tons of people gathering around chitt chatting, ordering ect. I got the BBQ pork plate. Mm mm mm!! The pork was soooo. Way better than the chain restaurants in the area! What stole the show was the Mac and cheese!!! That was soooo good! Now I wish I had gotten a plate of Mac and cheese with a side of pork.. lol . Everyone else really liked what they got as well.
Stopped in on our way back to Oakland. Service is amazing and food is absolutely delicious.
Support our community businesses. Great first time customer experience. Friendly food truck staff and they accept all forms of payment. BBQ : Smoke flavors and tender meat hits! Yelp Elite Pro Tip: if you like it saucy ask for more BBQ sauce on the side. Sandwiches and sides, potato, BBQ baked beans and french fries are all good! I will be back either to eat from their food truck or the Suisun waterfront restaurant location.
Absolutely LOVE ordering from this establishment. My food is always prepared on time and better than before. I cannot get enough of the BRISKET DINNER!! So soft and tender, my gosh! I'm literally thinking about it right now The employees don't waste no time! They are on it and preparing rather quickly. Great place, highly recommend you stop by for their Brisket and don't leave w/o tasting their Southern Smokehouse Beans!! This place is blessed for real. Thank y'all - see you next week.
